Oulton Raiders extend a warm welcome to the players, officials and spectators of all of our visitors this weekend. Both of our Under 13 teams are in action on Saturday. The highlight of Sunday sees the Under 16Raiders take on Parkside in the 1st Semi Final tie of the Leeds & District Cup. Best wishes to the Under 16 Vikings and Under 17′s who are also in Semi Final action in the coming week.

Gold Club Mark – Again!

You may or may not know about Club Mark, but to give you an understanding here is the definition supplied by the RFL.

“The RFL works closely with Sport England on the club accreditation scheme Clubmark.

By working towards Clubmark, clubs can join a growing number of clubs from all over the country that are offering an accessible environment where safe, effective and quality coaching in a welcoming environment.

As a forward thinking governing body the RFL recognises that the clubs are a key factor in the development and growth of the sport and the accreditation scheme is now classified in two tiers, Clubmark and Clubmark Gold.”

We are very pleased to announce that we have achieved for the second year running Gold Club Mark Status!

Supporting Craig Hodgson – Eastmoor Dragons

Craig is 22 years old Wakefield Trinity Wildcats supporter and Eastmoor Dragons player. He has recently been diagnosed with testicular cancer. Although he has undergone chemotherapy and various operations, the cancer has now spread. Craig urgently needs a new drug called Plerixafor, an immunostimulant used to multiply hematopoietic stem cells to allow his treatment to continue and increase his chances of overcoming this illness. The cost of these drugs is £10,000 but is not covered by the NHS because they are still in the trial stage.

Eastmoor will be playing a fund raising game on Sunday 8 April (Easter Sunday) kick off 2.00pm against an All Star team coached by Malcolm Reilly and including Garry Schofield, John Joyner, Paul Sculthorpe and many more household names.

As we know only too well at Oulton, this terrible disease strikes swiftly and without distinction of its victims.

Please get along to Eastmoor to support this very worthy cause if you can and wear your Oulton shirts to show we’re all pulling together for Craig.

Carnegie Challenge Cup – 3rd Round

Oulton Raider are pleased to confirm that their 3rd Round Carnegie Challenge Cup tie against

Sheffield Eagles will be be played on Saturday 24 March at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium (Belle Vue) home of

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats kick off 3.00pm. Admission Adults £10, Children and Concessions (inc Students) £5.

Oulton Raiders ARLFC would like to offer their sincere thanks to all at the Wildcats, especially James Elston and his staff

for their assistance in hosting this match on our behalf at such short notice.

1st Team Coaches, Mark Longley and Danny Burton, hope you will all make the short trip to Wakefield to support the Team

and make the occasion a real ‘home tie’.
